Continue shoppingBakeware is the last corner of your kitchen that nobody looks at. You chose your pan on purpose, your baking tin came from somewhere. And that is exactly where PFAS turns up in 70 to 90 per cent of cases. This baking set exists so you can be rid of it.
A baking set without PFAS, what that means
No PFAS, no PTFE, no PFOA and no Teflon. Not in the non-stick layer and not in the layer underneath. What you do get is our Greenshield coating based on silica, exactly the same layer that sits on our PFAS free pans. Around 2.5 times as durable as the average non-stick layer you find on bakeware.
Why almost every baking tin contains PFAS
With a pan you look at brand, material and price. With a baking tin you look at whether it fits your oven. Manufacturers know this, so they reach for the cheapest non-stick coating going, and for decades that has been a fluorine coating. The packaging simply says non-stick, and that is where the information stops. How to spot that silence is covered in our piece on PFAS in your pan and your raincoat.
How you make bakeware non-stick without PFAS
With a ceramic coating instead of a fluorine one. That layer is hard rather than soft, so it scratches less easily, and there is no fluorine in it. To be honest about it: ceramic does not mean your tin is made of solid ceramic. It is a coating on metal. What exactly goes into it, we picked apart in the piece on our ceramic non-stick coating.
What is in the set

- A deep oven dish for stews and vegetable bakes
- A baking tray for biscuits, traybakes and the eternal chips

- A muffin tin with six cups
- A stainless steel cooling rack so your bakes can breathe afterwards
- Felt protectors so the tins stack without scratching
Aluminised steel, and why that matters
Most baking tins are thin sheet metal. You pick them up and they already flex, and in the oven that translates into uneven heat: the edges are done while the middle is still batter. Aluminised steel combines the rigidity of steel with the heat conduction of aluminium. It does not bend away the moment you pour a litre of batter into it.
Stackable, so your cupboard makes sense again
The tins are designed to sit on top of each other with a felt protector in between. No loose tins taking up space left and right, and no scratches from metal on metal. It fits in an ordinary kitchen drawer, including a European one.
Care without coating worries
Let soaking do what scrubbing should not. Hot water, a splash of washing-up liquid, half an hour of waiting and most of it lets go by itself. No steel wool, no oven cleaner, no metal scrapers. The set is dishwasher safe, but washing by hand noticeably extends the life of the coating.
In Go Ivory and Taupe of Mind
The same shades as our cookware, so your oven and your hob speak the same language. If a set of ours is already on the stove, this slots straight in. Have a look at the Go Ivory pans or the Taupe of Mind pans to see what goes together.
The Cook & Pan promise
No PFAS, no PTFE, no PFOA, no Teflon. Designed in the Netherlands, without toxic substances, just like everything we make. And you get 60 days to try it. If it does not suit you, you send it back free of charge.
Frequently asked questions
- Is aluminium harmful in itself? Aluminium is not the same as PFAS. With aluminised steel your food never touches the metal anyway, because the ceramic coating sits in between.
- Do I still need to grease or use baking paper? Usually not. For very sticky things like caramel a sheet of baking paper is still handy.
- Is the set dishwasher safe? Yes. Washing by hand is gentler on the coating.
- Are silicone tins not a better alternative? They contain no PFAS, but they conduct heat poorly, bake limply and sit wobbling on your oven shelf.
