A good Brussels sprout is a wondrous thing. It should be green, al dente, and taste good. When cooked well, they even have a delicious nutty flavor. The key to perfect Brussels sprouts is to cook them very briefly. Anything longer than six minutes is probably too long. Unless you like soft Brussels sprouts.

Cooking Brussels sprouts
Cooking Brussels sprouts is super easy and not time-consuming, we'd love to explain how to make the best Brussels sprouts. With the tips below the preparation method, you're sure to succeed in preparing the most delicious Brussels sprouts.
- Cut off the hard ends and remove any bad-looking leaves from the sprouts.
- Then wash the sprouts in water.
- Put a cooking pot on the stove, add salt and bring to a boil.
- Once the water boils, you can add the sprouts. You can take the sprouts out after 6 minutes. (Do you like softer Brussels sprouts? Then let it cook for about 8 minutes.)
- Drain the water and serve the Brussels sprouts with butter and pepper, if desired.
Chef's tips:
- Do you have smaller Brussels sprouts? Then cook for a few minutes less.
- Don't make a cross in the bottom of the Brussels sprouts, it's no use. Your Brussels sprouts will taste less good because there is water in them.
- Are the Brussels sprouts part of a large dish? Then prepare the Brussels sprouts last so they stay nice and warm and fresh.
How long to cook Brussels sprouts?
How long to cook Brussels sprouts? This depends greatly on the size. On average, you let Brussels sprouts cook for about 6 minutes. If you have purchased small Brussels sprouts, 3 minutes works just fine.
Brussels sprouts in Airfryer
Brussels sprouts in the Airfryer is a great idea! They are healthy and wonderfully crispy to serve with your dish. Trim the Brussels sprouts and clean them in water. Sprinkle them with oil and some herbs and then put them in the Airfryer for 5 minutes at 200 degrees. Shake the Brussels sprouts around in the Airfryer and leave the Brussels sprouts again for 5 minutes at 200 degrees. Isn't this crispy enough for you? Then you can do one more round of 5 minutes at 200 degrees in the Airfryer.
Chef's tip: A combination of Brussels sprouts in the Airfryer with bacon is delicious! The pre-baked Bacon can then easily go into the Airfryer.

Cooking frozen Brussels sprouts
You can cook frozen Brussels sprouts directly. But it is best to thaw them first if you have time for this. If you cook them frozen, a lot of moisture will remain in the Brussels sprouts and the Brussels sprouts will lose flavor.
