Shakshuka is a popular dish from the Middle East that can be served for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It is a balanced meal made of tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, garlic, and lots of spices.

We’re happy to share a tasty twist on shakshuka, namely Ravioli Shakshuka with Shrimp. In this shakshuka, we use ravioli and fresh shrimp instead of the traditional ingredients. The combination of fresh ravioli, flavorful tomato sauce, and colorful shrimp makes this dish a real taste sensation. It’s also a dish that’s easy to make, so you can prepare it on a busy weekday for your family, friends, or loved ones. Read on to discover how to make this Ravioli Shakshuka with Shrimp.

Ingredients: 

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 10 large shrimp
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium yellow onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • Pinch of ground red pepper flakes
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes
  • 120 milliliters vegetable or chicken broth
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • 1 bag spinach
  • 1 bag cheese ravioli
  • 80 grams crumbled feta
  • Parsley
  • Crunchy bread, for dipping

Preparation:

  1. Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.
  2. Then add the bell pepper and onions and cook until soft. This takes about 10 minutes.
  3. Next, add the garlic until fragrant. This takes about 1 minute.
  4. Add tomato paste, paprika, and red pepper flakes and stir until the pan is coated with the mixture.
  5. Finally, add the tomatoes and broth and bring to a boil.
  6. Season with salt and pepper if needed.
  7. After simmering, add the ravioli and cook covered, al dente, for 4 to 6 minutes.
  8. Quickly fry the shrimp in some oil in another frying pan and add the shrimp.

Sprinkle with feta and parsley and serve with bread for dipping, enjoy your meal!
