You hear it often in the culinary world: "You need to season your new pan first." But we have good news for you. With the pans from Cook & Pan, that elaborate ritual is completely unnecessary. Our pans are designed so you can get straight to what really matters: delicious cooking without any fuss.

Which pans need which care?

Even though seasoning is a thing of the past, every pan deserves a little love to stay in top condition. Here's how to do it:

  • Cast iron: Our cast iron pans are robust and ready to use straight away. Seasoning is not necessary. It is smart, however, to rub them with a little vegetable oil after washing to keep the material supple and looking great.
  • Aluminium with ceramic non-stick coating: These pans come with a strong, PFAS-free coating. Seasoning is absolutely unnecessary here – just wash and cook!
  • Stainless steel: Only fully stainless steel without a non-stick coating could technically be seasoned, but we currently don't carry that in our range. Your stainless steel pan from Cook & Pan is therefore ready to go straight away.

Using it for the first time? Do it the Cook & Pan way

Ready to use your new addition for the first time? Follow these simple steps from our care guide for a flying start:

  1. Wash the pan with warm water and a little washing-up liquid.
  2. Dry the pan thoroughly with a clean cloth.
  3. For cast iron: lightly rub the inside with a drop of oil.
  4. You're ready to become the star of your own kitchen! ✨

What you should definitely not do 🚫

  • No hours of seasoning in the oven: Save yourself the time and the energy bill – our pans are not made for that.
  • No oil on the outside: Never rub oil on the outside of your pan; this only causes stains and smoke while cooking.
  • No aggressive cleaning products: Your PFAS-free layer stays beautiful longest when you use a soft sponge and mild washing-up liquid.

Maintenance = love ✨

After use, a quick rinse with warm water is often enough. Especially our ceramic pans require little attention – no oil needed, just a gentle hand. That's how you keep that "looks good, cooks good" vibe alive in your kitchen.
