Buying a cooking pot at Cook & Pan
A cooking pot is what you reach for daily for pasta, rice, soup, stews or a big pot of vegetables. At Cook & Pan you find cooking pots in two material families, all PFAS-free and suitable for every heat source. Which suits you depends on what you make most and how much maintenance you enjoy.
Which cooking pot suits you?
- For milk, sauces and anything that should not stick - the ceramic cooking pot with smooth non-stick.
- For those choosing specifically for induction - the cooking pot for induction with magnetic base that brings water to a boil fast.
- For those wanting guaranteed PFAS-free - the cooking pot without PFAS.
- For stewing and large pieces of meat - the slightly deeper casserole pan as an alternative.
Size guide for cooking pots
The right size depends on how many people you usually cook for:
- 18 cm - for 1 to 2 people or a quick portion of pasta for yourself.
- 20 or 22 cm - for 3 to 4 people or a normal family meal.
- 24 cm or more - for pasta for the whole family, a big pot of soup or a stew.
Material choice at a glance
The two material families for cooking pots at Cook & Pan are:
- 3-ply stainless steel - no coating, robust, oven-safe and long-lasting. Reacts fast to temperature changes, ideal for pasta and soup.
- Aluminium with ceramic non-stick coating - lightweight, fast to heat, smooth non-stick for milk and sauces.
Cooking pot and induction
All Cook & Pan cooking pots are induction-ready. Stainless steel is naturally ferromagnetic, the ceramic variants have a ferromagnetic base plate baked in. For models specifically optimised for induction, check our cooking pot for induction.
PFAS-free range
None of our cooking pots contain PFAS, PFOA or PTFE. Not in the coating, not in the base material. Want a complete list of the broader PFAS-free range? Check our cooking pot without PFAS.
Care basics
Stainless steel is dishwasher safe. For the ceramic coating: let the pot cool down before rinsing, use wooden or silicone spatulas and avoid steel wool. Put a lid on your cooking pot while heating, that saves energy and your water boils twice as fast.
Frequently asked questions
- Which cooking pot size suits me? For 1-2 people 18 cm, for 3-4 people 20 or 22 cm, for pasta for the whole family or large soup portions 24 cm or more.
- Is a cooking pot oven-safe? 3-ply stainless steel almost always, aluminium with ceramic coating up to a certain temperature. Check the product page.
- How do I prevent milk from burning in a cooking pot? Heat the pot on medium-high and stir regularly. A ceramic coating helps extra: milk sticks less easily to the smooth layer.
- How long does a cooking pot last? Our cooking pots come with a 7-year warranty on manufacturing and material defects and 2 years on the function of the ceramic coating. With good care they last even longer.
