Wok pan without PFAS: what that means
A wok pan without PFAS at Cook & Pan is a wok with no PFAS, PFOA or PTFE anywhere. Our wok pans have a smooth ceramic non-stick coating made of silicon oxide, on a light aluminium body or on sturdy stainless steel from the Honey line. So you stir-fry with a tablespoon of oil, without worrying about synthetic polymers in your stir-fry.
What is PFAS and why choose a wok pan without PFAS?
PFAS stands for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, a group of synthetic chemicals used since the 1940s in things like non-stick coatings, water-repellent clothing and food packaging. The best known is Teflon (PTFE). PFAS barely breaks down in the environment and builds up in people and animals. A wok often gets very hot, so a non-stick coating without PFAS is a logical choice.
How does a non-stick coating without PFAS work?
Our ceramic non-stick coating is made of silicon oxide, a mineral also found in sand and glass. It is applied to the wok at high temperature and cured into a smooth, hard layer. No plastic and no polymer, so nothing from the coating ends up in your food.

Care: how to keep your wok pan smooth for longer
Let the wok cool before rinsing, use wooden or silicone spatulas and avoid steel wool or scouring pads. A soft sponge with mild washing-up liquid is enough. The wok can go in the dishwasher, but washing by hand keeps the ceramic coating looking good for longer.
The Cook & Pan PFAS promise
We never use PFAS, PFOA or PTFE in our coatings or materials. Our wok pans come with a 7-year warranty on manufacturing and material defects and a 2-year warranty on the performance of the ceramic coating. Want to try a wok first? You have 60 days of try-cooking to test it at home and still send it back if it does not suit you.
Frequently asked questions
What size is a wok pan without PFAS?
Our wok pans are 30 cm, the size that makes it easy to stir-fry for two to four people.
Which oil do you use in a wok pan without PFAS?
For wokking on high heat, choose an oil with a high smoke point, such as sunflower, grapeseed or sesame oil. Olive oil is less suitable for the very highest settings.
Can a wok pan without PFAS go on gas?
Yes. Keep the flame under the base, not up the sides, and wok on a medium to high setting.
Does the wok come with a lid?
That depends on the product. The product page shows exactly what is included.
