Nothing is as annoying as a caked or burnt pan. Some dishes have the tendency to wreak havoc on our pots and pans. But it could also be that you have heated your pan too much. Either way: we all know the problem, but can you prevent or solve it? Yes! For example, look at the current pan you have. Does it have a good non-stick coating? Or does your pan not have a non-stick coating at all? Maybe you should buy one anyway, given the convenience it offers you! This is often overlooked, while it is the main reason for caked pans. Companies often only use a few light non-stick coatings because it is cheap. We will come back to this later, but first let's see how we can clean your caked pan!

Cleaning a burnt pan:

There are several ways to clean a burnt frying pan. Many are very time-consuming and do not always work as desired. We have tried several methods and are most satisfied with the following solution.

The Aluminum Method in a Stainless Steel Pan

Cover the burnt area with 2-3 tablespoons of baking soda and add a little water to create a mixture. Crumple up some aluminum foil and scrub the pan all around until all food particles and stains are clean. Rinse the pan with warm, soapy water.

How it works: This method takes very little time and requires minimal effort. Yes, you will be “scrubbing” the caked-on stainless steel pan, but you won’t have to put in the same amount of effort as you would with a scouring pad. Simply rub the foil in circles or back and forth—whatever works best for you. You may have to repeat the process because the baking soda will get really messy and make it hard to see the spots that need attention, but this is by far the best and easiest way to clean a scorched or burnt stainless steel pan.

Tip: This is a great way to put a random piece of extra foil to good use. Let’s say you used some foil to cover a roasting pan while you were baking something in the oven. Instead of throwing that foil away, recycle it, roll it into a ball, and save it for this cleaning method!

No more burnt pans:

Don't you have a stainless steel pan? But for example an aluminum frying pan with a non-stick coating? Then you would think that it can't stick. Unfortunately, this is not always the case. A non-stick coating should be seen as a coating that can be applied to your pan. The more layers you have, the less the pan can burn. Companies prefer to use as few non-stick coatings as possible because this is quite expensive.

We ourselves are huge cooking enthusiasts and understand that there is nothing more annoying than cleaning a burnt pan . We attach great importance to efficient cooking, but also to cooking with pleasure. In our opinion, a job like cleaning burnt food does not belong there. That is why we have looked extra carefully at various safe non-stick coatings. Of course, this was preceded by a lot of testing, on many dishes. In the end, we have managed to produce complete pan series with no less than 9 non-stick coatings! This makes the chance of anything ever sticking to your pan very small, unless you really go all out! 😉

Pans with a 9-layer ceramic non-stick coating are no exception with us. For example, take a look at the Rocco Pannen collection: equipped with 9 safe non-stick layers reinforced with certified 24-carat diamond. Guaranteed for years of cooking pleasure! But if you are looking for other pans, take a look at our induction frying pan , stainless steel frying pan , ceramic frying pan and frying pans without Teflon . The perfect frying pan for every occasion.
