Induction sauté pan: from searing to simmering on one zone
An induction sauté pan is the pan for anything with a sauce: risotto, curry, pasta you finish in the sauce or a quick stew. Every Cook & Pan sauté pan has a flat, magnetic base that makes full contact with your induction zone, and a smooth ceramic non-stick coating without PFAS. Choose a light aluminium sauté pan or sturdy stainless steel from our Honey line.
What makes a sauté pan suitable for induction?
- Magnetic base: induction only heats pans with a magnetic base. Does a magnet stick to the underside? Then the pan works on induction.
- Flat base: a flat base makes contact with the hob everywhere, so the heat spreads evenly across the whole base.
- The right size: choose a sauté pan roughly the same size as your cooking zone, so the edge of the base heats up nicely too.
How to cook with a sauté pan on induction
Induction responds instantly, and that is exactly what you want in a sauté pan. Briefly fry onions, vegetables or chicken on a medium setting, then turn the hob straight down to let your sauce or risotto simmer gently. The high sides keep liquid and sauce in the pan, so you can cook everything in one pan.
Which size induction sauté pan?
- 24 cm: great for one or two people or a side dish.
- 28 cm: for three or four people, or if you like to make a big batch.
Not sure? Check which cooking zone you use most and choose the size that fits it best.
