A cooking pot for induction that boils fast

Waiting for the water to boil? On induction that doesn't take long, as long as your cooking pot plays along. Every cooking pot for induction from Cook & Pan has a thick, flat, magnetic base. Your induction hob picks it up straight away, the water boils in a few minutes and after that you can turn down to a low setting. Inside is a smooth ceramic non-stick coating without PFAS, so rice and pasta don't stick.

Not sure whether your other pans work on induction? In our overview of induction pots and pans we explain what to look for.

Which cooking pot for induction suits you?

  • Cooking pot with lid 20 cm: the small induction cooking pot for rice, a portion of pasta or sauce for two.
  • Cooking pot with lid 22 cm: the everyday size, for potatoes and vegetables for a family.
  • Cooking pot with lid 24 cm: the large induction cooking pot for soup, pasta for four or a one-pot dish.
  • Honey cooking pot with lid, stainless steel: the same ceramic coating on stainless steel with an extra-thick base that spreads the heat evenly. In 20, 22 and 24 cm, made for induction.
  • Cast iron dutch oven, 2.5 to 6.5 litres: for stews that can simmer for hours, in the oven too. See the casserole pots for induction.

Aluminium, stainless steel or cast iron: which cooking pot for induction?

  • Aluminium with a ceramic non-stick coating: light and the quickest to the boil. Nice if you lift, drain and wash up often.
  • Stainless steel with a ceramic non-stick coating (Honey): sturdy and scratch-resistant, with a base that heats extra evenly.
  • Enamelled cast iron: holds heat the longest, for braising and simmering.

Which size fits your induction zone?

Choose your cooking pot by what you cook: 20 cm for one or two people, 22 cm for a family and 24 cm for soup and big batches of pasta. Then look at the cooking zone. On induction, a pot works best when its base is roughly the size of the zone. A pot that is much smaller than the zone is sometimes not detected. For milk and small sauces, use a saucepan for induction.

Cooking economically on induction

Induction heats the base directly, with no detour via a hot plate. Water boils faster than on gas, and as soon as it boils you turn down. Lid on and almost no heat escapes. That's how you cook pasta and rice on very little electricity.

Also works on gas, ceramic and electric hobs

The aluminium cooking pots and the cast iron dutch ovens also work on gas, ceramic and electric hobs. Move to a kitchen with gas and they move with you. The Honey stainless steel pots are made for induction. The full overview of cooking pots, for other hobs too, is in our cooking pot range.

Cooking pot for induction without PFAS

None of our cooking pots contain PFAS, PFOA or PTFE. Want to see every cooking pot with that promise up front? Take a look at our cooking pots without PFAS.

Keeping your cooking pot smooth for longer

Let the pot cool down a little before rinsing it, use wooden or silicone utensils and preferably wash by hand with a soft sponge. The cooking pots can go in the dishwasher, but washing by hand keeps the coating looking good for longer. Lift the pot instead of sliding it across the hob.

How long does a cooking pot for induction last?

Our cooking pots come with a 7-year warranty on manufacturing and material defects and a 2-year warranty on the performance of the ceramic coating. Cast iron has a 25-year warranty. Want to try it at home first? You get 60 days of try-cooking.

Frequently asked questions about cooking pots for induction

Does every Cook & Pan cooking pot work on induction?

Yes. Every cooking pot has a magnetic base and works on induction.

How do I know whether my old cooking pot works on induction?

Hold a magnet under the base. If it sticks, the pot works on induction. If it doesn't, it's time for a new one.

Which size cooking pot for induction do I need?

20 cm for one or two people, 22 cm for a family and 24 cm for soup and big portions. Choose a base that is roughly the size of your cooking zone.

Can a cooking pot for induction go in the dishwasher?

It can, but washing by hand keeps the ceramic coating looking good for longer.

Why does my cooking pot make a noise on induction?

A slight hum or ticking is normal, especially on high settings. It comes from the magnetic field and says nothing about the pot.

Can I try a cooking pot for induction first?

Yes. You get 60 days of try-cooking. If the pot turns out not to suit you, just let us know.
