Induction sauté pan: from searing to simmering on one zone

An induction sauté pan is the pan for anything with a sauce: risotto, curry, pasta you finish in the sauce or a quick stew. Every Cook & Pan sauté pan has a flat, magnetic base that makes full contact with your induction zone, and a smooth ceramic non-stick coating without PFAS. Choose a light aluminium sauté pan or sturdy stainless steel from our Honey line.

What makes a sauté pan suitable for induction?

  • Magnetic base: induction only heats pans with a magnetic base. Does a magnet stick to the underside? Then the pan works on induction.
  • Flat base: a flat base makes contact with the hob everywhere, so the heat spreads evenly across the whole base.
  • The right size: choose a sauté pan roughly the same size as your cooking zone, so the edge of the base heats up nicely too.

How to cook with a sauté pan on induction

Induction responds instantly, and that is exactly what you want in a sauté pan. Briefly fry onions, vegetables or chicken on a medium setting, then turn the hob straight down to let your sauce or risotto simmer gently. The high sides keep liquid and sauce in the pan, so you can cook everything in one pan.

Which size induction sauté pan?

  • 24 cm: great for one or two people or a side dish.
  • 28 cm: for three or four people, or if you like to make a big batch.

Not sure? Check which cooking zone you use most and choose the size that fits it best.

Which induction sauté pan suits you?

  • Ceramic sauté pan with aluminium body: light in the hand and quick to heat, in 24 and 28 cm and in several colours. Browse our ceramic sauté pans.
  • Stainless steel sauté pan from the Honey line: sturdier and more scratch-resistant, with the same smooth ceramic coating, in 24 cm. Browse all stainless steel pots and pans.

How long does an induction sauté pan last?

Our sauté pans come with a 7-year warranty on manufacturing and material defects and a 2-year warranty on the performance of the ceramic coating. With the right care, you will be cooking with it for much longer. Want to feel whether it suits you first? You get 60 days of try-cooking.

Frequently asked questions about induction sauté pans

Does every sauté pan work on induction?

No. The pan needs a magnetic base. All Cook & Pan sauté pans have a flat, magnetic base and work on induction.

Which size sauté pan fits my cooking zone?

Choose a base roughly the same size as your cooking zone. 24 cm fits a standard zone well, on a large zone or a flex zone go for 28 cm.

Is an induction sauté pan PFAS-free?

Ours are. The ceramic coating contains no PFAS, PFOA or PTFE. Also browse all our sauté pans without PFAS.

Does an induction sauté pan also work on gas?

Yes. Our sauté pans work on induction, gas, ceramic and electric hobs. On gas, keep the flame under the base, not up the sides.

Can I try an induction sauté pan first?

Yes. You get 60 days of try-cooking. If the pan turns out not to suit you, just let us know.
