A saucepan for induction that heats up straight away
Warming milk, making a sauce, porridge or a portion of rice: that's what a saucepan is for. On induction you want one with a flat, magnetic base that the cooking zone picks up straight away, even though the pan is small. Every saucepan for induction from Cook & Pan has that base, plus a smooth ceramic non-stick coating without PFAS. Milk doesn't catch and sauce comes away.
Not sure whether your other pans work on induction? In our overview of induction pots and pans we explain what to look for.
Which saucepan for induction suits you?
- Saucepan with lid 18 cm: light aluminium with a ceramic coating and a glass lid. For milk for two, sauce, poaching an egg or a quick portion of pasta.
- Honey saucepan 18 cm, stainless steel: the same ceramic coating on a sturdy stainless steel body with an extra-thick base. Scratch-resistant and made for induction.
- Saucepan in a set: our 7- and 9-piece cookware sets include a saucepan in the same colour. See the cookware sets for induction.
Aluminium or stainless steel: which saucepan for induction?
- Aluminium with a ceramic non-stick coating: light and hot in seconds. Nice for milk, sauce and anything you often put on for a moment.
- Stainless steel with a ceramic non-stick coating (Honey): sturdier, scratch-resistant and with a base that spreads the heat evenly, so sauce doesn't catch in the middle.
A small saucepan on a large cooking zone
An 18 cm saucepan is smaller than most cooking zones. Use the smallest zone on your hob, then the whole base heats evenly and the hob detects the pan straight away. On a flex zone you simply put the saucepan where you like. If the pan isn't detected, the zone is too big for the base.
Heating economically on induction
Induction heats the base directly, so milk is warm in a minute. Turn down as soon as it's almost boiling, because a saucepan reacts quickly. Give it a stir and nothing catches.
Also works on gas, ceramic and electric hobs
The aluminium saucepan also works on gas, ceramic and electric hobs, so it moves with you to any kitchen. The Honey saucepan is made for induction. All saucepans, for other hobs too, are in our saucepan range. Cooking bigger portions? Have a look at the cooking pots for induction.
Saucepan for induction without PFAS
None of our saucepans contain PFAS, PFOA or PTFE. Want to see every saucepan with that promise up front? Take a look at our saucepans without PFAS.
Keeping your saucepan smooth for longer
Let the pan cool down a little before rinsing it, use a wooden or silicone spatula and preferably wash by hand with a soft sponge. The saucepan can go in the dishwasher, but washing by hand keeps the coating looking good for longer.
How long does a saucepan for induction last?
Our saucepans come with a 7-year warranty on manufacturing and material defects and a 2-year warranty on the performance of the ceramic coating. Want to try it at home first? You get 60 days of try-cooking.
Frequently asked questions about saucepans for induction
Does every Cook & Pan saucepan work on induction?
Yes. Every saucepan has a magnetic base and works on induction.
Why doesn't my induction hob detect my small saucepan?
Then the base is too small for the zone. Put the saucepan on the smallest zone or on a flex zone and the hob will pick it up.
Which size saucepan for induction do I need?
18 cm is the size for milk for two, sauce for four or a quick portion of pasta. Bigger portions go in a cooking pot.
Can a saucepan for induction go in the dishwasher?
It can, but washing by hand keeps the ceramic coating looking good for longer.
Does milk catch in a saucepan on induction?
Not if you turn down as soon as the milk is almost boiling. A skin comes away from the ceramic coating easily.
Can I try a saucepan for induction first?
Yes. You get 60 days of try-cooking. If the pan turns out not to suit you, just let us know.
